Dear Norwalk High School Community:

On behalf of the Norwalk High School faculty and staff, I welcome you to the 2016-2017 school year and our school's website, the virtual home of the Lancers!

Our vision is that our students will graduate and be eligible to attend a four-year college or university without the need for remediation.  Our students will possess the knowledge, skills, and certifications necessary to be successful in any post-secondary environment.

To achieve our vision, Norwalk High School provides students with rigorous instruction in all core and elective courses to ensure that all of our students graduate ready for college and careers.

Our AVID program, 17 Advanced Placement classes, English Language Development support, World Language classes (Mandarin Chinese, French, and Spanish), Special Education support, Honors and Pre-AP classes, student leadership opportunities through ASB and Link Crew, personalized counseling and career support, academic and behavior support, student-led clubs, meaningful service learning and charity work, and athletic opportunities prepare our graduates to meet challenges in a wide variety of careers, colleges, and universities.  Students achieve high levels of success by getting involved, feeling connected, and developing pride in their school and community.

At Norwalk High School, we use the Linked Learning framework to proudly offer:

  • 3 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Project Lead the Way pathways. Students can choose to study Engineering, Bio-Medical Science, or Computer Science.
  • The Lancer Academy of Food, Fashion, Arts, Music, and Entertainment (LA FAME). With offerings in Band, Dance, Drama, Vocal Music, Fashion Design, Visual Arts, and Culinary Arts, this unique pathway has something for everyone!
  • Career Technical Education courses (in conjunction with Southeast ROP) in Automotive Technology, Automotive Collision Repair, Culinary Arts, and Advanced Culinary Arts.

At Norwalk High School, every student takes the PSAT (9th, 10th, and 11th grades), SAT (12th grade), and AP exams for free.  We proudly partner with Kaplan Learning Services to offer preparation courses for these exams.

Norwalk High School has been designated as one of America’s Best High Schools by U.S. News and World Report magazine for two years in a row (Bronze medal 2015, Silver medal 2016).  Norwalk High School is the place where students excel both in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities!

Please check back regularly to find important updates about school events and programs, information about curriculum, instruction and support, as well as faculty/staff phone numbers and email addresses.
