Dear Students and Families:
On behalf of the Norwalk High School faculty and staff, I would like to extend and warm welcome to each of you for the 2009-2010 school year!
While the state of California and public education face many more challenges than we have ever seen before, we are dedicated to maintaining a quality program for all students at Norwalk High. Despite a drop in our budget, our teachers and staff remain focused on our goal—student achievement!
With your support and commitment to making education a top priority, we will meet our goals together. Remember, the most important thing you can do to help ensure success at school is to have regular attendance. The hard work you put in each and every day will pay off in the future.
Students: We have been hard at work this summer to improve the educational and extracurricular programs available to Norwalk High students. Your teachers have been working together to create engaging work and improve their instructional skills. Coaches have been practicing with their teams all summer long as well. There are opportunities for everyone to be involved, no matter where your interests lie. So, make this year a memorable one and get involved!
Parents and guardians: We encourage your involvement as well. Continue to support you children by reinforcing the importance of good attendance and consistent effort. Please make an appointment to meet with your child’s counselor during the year to review progress, make plans for college, or just to get to know them. You can also show your support by attending a sporting event, back-to-school night or joining a committee or booster club.
Again, welcome to the 2009-2010 school year. Together we can make it our best yet!
Sincerely,
Dina Wilson, Principal
