Scholarships:

We know that when it comes to paying for college many students are at a loss. A great first step is to familiarize yourself with local community scholarships. We have listed some great scholarships below, but this is not an exhaustive list. Check out Unigo, FastWeb and California Colleges to learn more about scholarship opportunities you may be eligible for.

LULAC: Corazon de los Valles Higher Education Scholarship

 

LULAC: Corazon de los Valles’ core mission is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of our community. You must be of Hispanic/Latino heritage, a resident of Norwalk, graduating senior, minimum GPA of 2.5, and seeking higher education. Click on the application below and then print and mail the completed application to the address provided.

City of Norwalk Environmental Awareness Scholarship 2019

 

The City of Norwalk is offering 5 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to high school seniors who are active in their community and show interest in environmental issues. You must live in the city of Norwalk and have a minimum GPA of 2.0. You must print and mail or walk in the application.

Los Angeles Federal Credit Union

 

LAFCU is pleased to offer seven scholarships for students that plan on attending college in the Fall of 2019. Please apply below.

Norwalk-La Mirada Council of PTA’s Scholarship Application

 

The council PTA will award one $1,000 scholarship, one $500 scholarship, and one $200 scholarship from each of the high schools in Norwalk-La Mirada School District. If you do not have a PTA membership you’ll have to purchase one for $10 with Ms. Perez. Print the application below or see Ms. Perez in the career center.

2019 Student-View Scholarship Program

 

The 2019 Student View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community college or career school. Simply click on the link below and answer a survey.

The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker Community Scholarship Program

 

The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker Community Scholarship is a onetime monetary scholarship award. Once winners have been selected, the monetary scholarship award will given to the student directly.

 

Candidates must submit and complete the application package through The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker website.

Candidates must compose an original essay or video with limited guidance from others.

Candidates must have a 2.7 GPA or higher.

The California Latino Legislative Caucus Foundation  

 

The CA Latino Legislative Caucus Foundation’s Scholarship Program, now in its fifth year, is accepting online applications from eligible students.  The program was established to assist deserving students by offering financial assistance to meet educational expenses.  At least thirty-five $5,000 scholarships will be awarded this year. In order to be eligible for scholarship consideration students must meet the following requirements:

 

Be a full time student in good academic standing at an accredited college or university, OR
Be a graduating high school senior with written proof of acceptance at an accredited institution of higher learning.
Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5.

Abbot and Fenner Scholarships

 

The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay between 500 and 1000 words. Click on the link below to view the prompt. The Association will award 1020 scholarships for students seeking to pursue a career or technical education in a post-secondary environment. This program seeks to provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have financial need and have exhibited integrity in overcoming personal adversity.
