Scholarships:

We know that when it comes to paying for college many students are at a loss. A great first step is to familiarize yourself with local community scholarships. We have listed some great scholarships below, but this is not an exhaustive list. Check out Unigo, FastWeb and California Colleges to learn more about scholarship opportunities you may be eligible for.

Bezos Scholars Program
 
High school juniors are encouraged to apply to this year long leadership development program. The Bezos Scholars Program supports students to positively impact their communities by building connections with fellow scholars and provides learning opportunities through the launch of a community change project.

Tzu Chi Scholars 2019

 

Tzu Chi USA Scholars is a scholarship program funded by Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation to recognize and provide financial assistance to outstanding college-bound high school graduates and continuing undergraduate students in selected areas of the United States. Tzu Chi USA Scholars are selected on the basis of their financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement. Each Scholar will receive an award of $1,000.

Italian Catholic Federation

 

The Italian Catholic Federation is a National Roman Catholic Fraternal Organization composed of persons of Italian ancestry. They are offering college scholarships to students of Italian descent and with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Visit their site to get more information and to apply.

Larry Wong Memorial Scholarship

 

Larry Wong was a high school teacher in the Norwalk-La Mirada School District for 35 years where he taught history and government. He worked countless hours for the students of this community both before and after his retirement from teaching. This scholarship was named for Larry Wong after his death in 2007. It is the desire of the LWAHF that his legacy of giving be carried on through this $500.00 scholarship.

Norwalk Lion’s Club “Spirit of the Community”

 

The Lions Club of Norwalk, a humanitarian/non-profit service organization, is once again proud to announce the “Spirit of Community” scholarship. They will award several thousand dollar scholarships to Norwalk youth who are graduating high school seniors and entering college or vocational training the following school year. This award is designed for Norwalk youth to involve themselves in their community so that they may experience the self-enrichment and benefits of volunteerism.

2019 Student-View Scholarship Program

The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker Community Scholarship Program

 

The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker Community Scholarship is a onetime monetary scholarship award. Once winners have been selected, the monetary scholarship award will given to the student directly.

 

Candidates must submit and complete the application package through The Law Offices of Larry H. Parker website.

Candidates must compose an original essay or video with limited guidance from others.

Candidates must have a 2.7 GPA or higher.

Abbot and Fenner Scholarships

 

The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay between 500 and 1000 words. Click on the link below to view the prompt.
