Scholarships:

We know that when it comes to paying for college many students are at a loss. A great first step is to familiarize yourself with local community scholarships. We have listed some great scholarships below, but this is not an exhaustive list. Check out Unigo, FastWeb and California Colleges to learn more about scholarship opportunities you may be eligible for. 

 

Stay In School Scholarship Program 

The LA Clippers are pleased to offer an opportunity to assist college-bound students. Six $4,000 Stay In School Scholarships will be offered to seniors planning to attend a four-year college beginning in the Fall of 2020. Scholarships will be made available to students residing in the greater Los Angeles area. Applications can be submitted until February 15, 2020.
 
 
Italian Catholic Federation 
Due: March 15, 2020
 
College scholarships are available for students of Italian descent and have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Check out their website to apply.
 
 
 
SCW Dreamers Scholarship
Due: June 30, 2020
 

The Arizona Law Offices of Snow, Carpio & Weekley are pleased to offer the S.C.W. DREAMers Scholarship. The Scholarship is open nationwide to those who will be attending college during the fall semester of 2020. Applicants must be a High School Senior and meet the Dreamer qualifications listed on their website. 

 
 
 
Mount Saint Mary's University: Music Scholarship Auditions 
 
Full tuition scholarships available and award money for students applying for music majors and non-music majors in the Music Department at MSMU. 
 
Norwalk Lion's Club 'Spirit of the Community" 
Due: April 10, 2020
 
The Lion's Club will once again award thousands of dollars to students that live or go to school in Norwalk and have participated in community service in the city of Norwalk. Fill out the application below and follow the instructions on how to submit. 
 
 
Immigrants Rising Scholarships and Fellowships 
Due: Ongoing 
 
Get a complete list of 344 undergraduate and 302 graduate/post-graduate scholarships and fellowships that do not require proof of citizenship or legal permanent residency (425 are open to individuals who don’t have DACA).
 
Tzu Chi Scholarship
Due: March 6, 2020
 
The Tzu Chi USA Scholarship is a scholarship program funded by Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation to recognize and provide financial assistance to outstanding college-bound high school graduates. 
 
Student View Scholarship Program 
Due: April 22, 2020
 
Complete a 15-20 minute survey about colleges in your area and you will be put into a drawing to win up to $5,000. 
 
CAA Youth Scholarship Program 
Due: April 10, 2020
 
All students (18-20 yrs) that have a parent (guardian) that is an active full time member of law enforcement or fire department and is going to college can apply. 
 
 
CSEA Chapter 404 Scholarship Awards 
Due: March 27, 2020
 
Are you a graduating senior and your parent works for NLMUSD? Are they part of the CSEA Union and are part of our classified staff? If so, please follow the instructions on the flyer below to apply for a scholarship.

Downey Credit Union Scholarship 
Due: February 21, 2020
 
The Downey Credit Union is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a hard working high school senior that is involved in community service, highly motivated, and excels academically. Please apply and submit all required documents before the deadline. 
 
Los Angeles Federal Credit Union 
Due: April 30, 2020
 
The LAFCU is offering scholarships to current high school students that will be enrolling in college or vocational programs in the Fall 2020. Read how to apply below: 
 
 
TRENZA Scholarship
Due: March 22, 2020
 
TRENZA recognizes the need to support other Chicana/Latinas in their academic endeavors. They also believe that we have a responsibility to encourage other young Chicana/Latinas to pursue higher education. They demonstrate this encouragement by offering two $500 scholarships every year to graduating Chicana/Latina high school seniors pursuing higher education.
 
City of Norwalk Environmental Awareness Scholarship 
Due: April 2, 2020
 
The Norwalk Education Alliance Committee will award 5, $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who are active in their community and show interest in environmental issues. Students must print the application and email it to the email address provided on the application.
 
 
Lupe Contreras Memorial Scholarship 
Due: May 8, 2020
 
The Lupe M. Contreras Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding graduating senior who embodies the spirit of Lupe Contreras. Community College-bound students, CSU-bound students, and scholar athletes are strongly encouraged to apply. Print out the application below. 
 
 
Larry Wong Memorial Scholarship
Due: April 15, 2020
 
Applicants must be graduating seniors from any Norwalk-La Mirada Unified High School, with a 2.5 or higher grade point average, enrolling in a community college or 4- year college. Once completed email it to Ms. Perez, soperez@nlmusd.org
 
 
 
California Latino Legislative Caucus Foundation Scholarship Program 
Due: June 1, 2020
 
Students must be graduating seniors going to college and with at least a 2.5 GPA. Apply online. 
 
Educator Scholarships
Due: April 24, 2020
The following scholarships are available for seniors who wish pursue a career in education and are either bilingual or want to serve the bilingual community.
